Ludima Gus Burton retired from teaching in 1978. She and her husband had three glorious retirement yeras before he died of a heart attack in 1981. She now lives with her daughter, Daphne, son-in-law, Peter, and a grandson, Matthew. Her other daughter, Jennifer, lives six miles away.
When she wrote her first novel in long hand, on lined paper, in 1991, at the age of 71, in six weeks she thought it was perfect. Alas, the editors didn't.
For the next eight years she joined RWA, went to conferences and workshops aand wrote five more novels. Her childhood dream was realized with the publication of this book-at age 80! One is never too old to make a dream come true. "Never give up on your dream," Ludima says.
