He and Dierdre grow close especially after his young niece, Molly, comes to visit. But, it is a personal crisis becomes a true test for love.

Jean Ann Moynahan was born in Portland, Oregon and reared in Arizona. After a two-year stint in the Army in Germany, she pursued a a graduate degree in English at Arizona State University. Her studies completed, Jean accumulated teaching experience at junior high, college prep, and community college levels before returning with her husband, Tim, to her native Oregon. She continues to teach part-time at her local community college, learning from her students as well as teaching them.

She and her husband enjoy gardening (Tim is in charge of the vegetables, while Jean supervises the flowers), music, and local Irish cultural events. She feels fortunate to be able to draw upon her experiences in Europe and as a teacher in her writing.

Captain of Hearts is Jean's first career romance novel for Avalon.
