AN AVALON CAREER ROMANCE

Cold Moon Honor
by Lauri Olsen

Game management officer Terra Bartlett loves two things above all else: her work with wildlife in Montana's majestic mountains, and the family who adopted her as an infant from the Crow Indian reservation. When Whitman Bull Chief, who blends traditional Native American culture with contemporary non-Indian ways, steals Terra's heart, he is eager to introduce her to Crow traditions. Refusing to go to the reservation with him, Terra resents her unknown birth parents, who she feels rejected her. A life-threatening experience jolts Terra into realizing she cannot move forward in her life with Whit until she addresses the issue of her adoption. Returning to the Crow reservation, Terra confronts the people who hold the key to the past and, ultimately, to her future.

Lauri Olsen lives at the foot of the Bridger Mountains in Bozeman, Montana, where she is on staff at Montana State University.
