Things are going well for Muffy Sergeant. She’s the daughter of a famous doctor, director of The Arts Center’s theater and fine arts program, and the longtime love of Philadelphia’s most eligible bachelor. Life is perfect, or so it seems. Suddenly, her father is terminally ill, her boyfriend announces he’s marrying someone else, and the Arts Center is in serious financial trouble. It seems that her luck has run out overnight.

So when the merry, mysterious Peter Gant, a handsome, talented artist, comes into her life, she doesn’t think much of him at all. He has no time for a real job, and she has bigger problems to deal with.

As her father’s health deteriorates, and the Arts Center’s finances, fall prey to the financial planner’s greed, Peter becomes a source of comfort. His blunt observations make her laugh while his sensitive fingers untie the knots in her neck and her heart.

Peter agrees to teach a class if Muffy will pose for his entry in the Philadelphia Figure Society’s show. Modeling, she has his undivided attention. But will he ever see her as the love of his real life instead of just another pretty picture to capture on canvas?

Ann LeValley lives with her husband in a log home in the woods near Philadelphia. She graduated from Cornell University as a design major. Originally from Olcott, New York, she has lived in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

While loving seven children/stepchildren, she sold advertising, resumes and tissue and wrote news, features, and garden columns.
