Wilhelmina (Willy) Heidler, a young teacher, returns to her hometown of Eden, Ohio one summer to visit and care for her ailing mother. Looking forward to a break from her more hectic life in Texas, she anticipates a restful, enjoyable few months.

The last person she wants to meet again is Marshall Gray, her playmate and confidante from childhood. Once the best of friends, they parted under unhappy circumstances when he went off to college ten years earlier. Unbeknownst to Willy, Marsh has moved back permanently to Eden.

Linda L. Paisley, a native of Houston, Ohio, moved with her family to Montana two decades ago. A former teacher, she is employed at a nonprofit arts organization in Bozeman in the beautiful Gallatin Valley. Linda has three adult children and a Siamese cat. She thanks her family and old friends for providing the inspiration for this novel.
