Peacemaker Rawhide is Clifford's sixteenth Avalon title, including the recently published Peacemaker Law. After Jacob Langton dies suspiciously in a wagon accident, James Stark, the professional troubleshooter known as The Peacemaker, is hired by feisty lady attorney Prudence McKay to protect Langton's two teenage children. Meanwhile, wealthy widow Norene Danner has plans for the Langton's freight company, B & B Freight, and she seems to be willing to do just about anything, including romancing Stark, to get it. Battling with her bushwacker trio, one of whom is a master at the deadly art of whips, the Peacemaker must prevail over this conniving yet seductive widow if the Langton children are to be saved.

Clifford Blair is an attorney and former bank officer who practices law in the field of trusts and state planning. A native Oklahoman, Clifford lives with his wife, Alma, who is also a novelist, on an acreage in central Oklahoma. They have three adult children.

Clifford's hobbies include archery, swimming, reading westerns and pulp novels, and doing humane work with animals. He is active in his church and serves as a teacher of adult Sunday school classes. He has also travelled extensively in Europe, South America and Africa. Clifford holds belt rankings in four martial arts, including a black belt in tae kwon do.
