AN AVALON WESTERN
The Alamo Trail
by Kent Conwell

The one fear Secret Service agent Ben Moore had always dreaded came true when he was assigned to hunt down his own blood brother, Keen Sighted, the leader of a band of marauding Apaches responsible for the death of Ben's old friend and mentor, Captain John Salmon Cook. Orphaned, reared by the Apache, and finally sent by his Apache father, Chato, to live in the white man's world at sixteen, Ben realizes he is Keen Sighted's only hope for a fair trial, but first he must find his blood brother before the army kills him. He returns to the Arizona Territory to find the old life as he had known it destroyed, hunted down, and driven away by the bluecoats.

Kent Conwell grew up in the Texas Panhandle, in the town of Wheeler, population 848. When his family moved to Fort Worth, he spent many hours at the stockyards, but he still managed to earn his bachelor's degree. After moving to Port Neches, Texas, Kent married, earned a master's and a Ph.D., and achieved a successful career in education, but his love for writing and the west never waned. Over the years he has won short story, screenplay, mystery, and western fiction awards.

Blood Brothers is Kent's fourteenth book for Avalon.
