In the sequel to The Gunfighter’s Apprentice, former gunfighter Patterson and his wife Betty are drawn into a scheme of assassination and avarice in 1880’s California. Patterson seeks to find and warn the proposed victim of a failed murder attempt. As well, he hopes to discover the reason for the criminal intent and the malevolent men who are behind it.

Following a lead, Patterson’s travels to various locations near the Nevada border bring him close to finding answers to the conspiracy, but the search also results in deadly consequences for others and many life-threatening dangers for him.

Fighting for survival, Tom and Betty pit their skills, wits and courage against a mysterious and malignant enemy.

Jerry S. Drake is a writer-director of film and video productions for corporate and educational clients. He lives near the Rocky Mountains in Westminster, Colorado.

He has written two other full-length works of action-adventure fiction and has recently completed another as yet untitled western story.
